Gold has a scent — a meeting with Douze Paris

This is the beginning of a luminous collaboration—where precious metal meets perfumed memory.
As with every creative house, some clients are sought out. Others arrive drawn by reputation—by a mastery in olfactory identity and the art of scented objects.
With Douze Paris, founder Hermine Sacau came to us with a vision. At the helm of a fine jewelry maison crafting pieces from 18-carat recycled gold, Hermine raised a bold and beautiful question:
How can we embody our brand identity… in a scent?

Crafting a Scented Signature
When we speak of identity—of DNA—we speak of tailor-made creation. A perfume that reflects a story: the soul of a founder, the spirit of a brand, a place, a craft.

Creating identity is like sculpting a bespoke jewel in 18-karat gold—reimagining gold with craftsmanship and care, blending high jewelry with sustainable upcycling, breathing new life into vintage treasures with meaning and responsibility.
And so, in the spirit of shaping something scented and symbolic, Hermine came to our atelier on rue de Seine—to discover the imaginative and fragrant world of Quintessence Paris.

A Fragrance That Reflects Gold
Inside our workshop, nestled in the heart of Paris’ 6th arrondissement, the air is steeped in scent. Around every corner: glass, ceramic, crystal, scented candles of all shapes and sizes, luxurious gift boxes, diffusers… Each object is a story. Each perfume, a signature.

Here is where it all begins.

Around the table, we explored: the form and height of a candle, the type of wax, the texture of the packaging… and finally, the soul of the creation—its fragrance.
Hermine and her team were instantly drawn to a delicate blend of neroli and citrus—a perfume at once luminous, soft, and timeless.
Just a few creative sessions with her team, alongside our project manager and in-house designer, were enough to bring to life what would become the scented jewel of Douze Paris:
a candle created not only to adorn, but to awaken the senses.
